Stay Cool Pools and Patios is owned and operated by Lori and Brian, two East Tennesseans who spent 30+ years in construction before turning their attention to backyards, and a retail counter on US-411.
From construction sites to backyards in Blount County.
Stay Cool started where most good East Tennessee businesses start: at a kitchen table, after a long career somewhere else. Lori had spent 32 years on the construction side of things, project managing builds across the region. Brian came at it from the same world. Between them, they'd seen what gets done right and, more often, what gets done half-right and patched over.
The pool business started as a natural expansion. Friends asked for help with their installs. Then friends-of-friends. Then a few full builds. By the time Lori retired from her construction career, the pool work was busy enough that opening a proper retail store made sense.
That's how the shop on US-411 South in Maryville ended up here: a real storefront with chemicals on the shelves, free water testing at the counter, spa and pool displays in the showroom, and a team that handles install and service for everyone within driving distance of Blount County.
The voice behind Pool School.
If you've read a guide on this site (opening your pool, fighting mustard algae, deciding on a permit), that's Lori's voice on the page. Three decades of construction experience in East Tennessee, plus years of running the water-testing counter, means she's seen most pool problems on a Monday morning before her coffee.
She wrote Pool School to give straight answers to the questions she's been asked most at the counter, the same way she'd explain it to a neighbor.
